Growth Beyond Fluency!

I have been an active member of an English conversation club for a long time.

For me, it is not only about learning English.
Just as importantly, it is about maintaining good relationships and deepening friendships with people who share similar interests after retirement.

Recently, I’ve noticed that when people express their opinions, their styles naturally fall into two categories.

One is the spontaneous, conversational style we used in the past.
The other is a more structured approach—preparing a script in advance and delivering it clearly so listeners can follow more easily.

These days, I find myself choosing the second approach more often, and this change came after the arrival of AI.

I realized that my purpose for presenting had shifted.
Since my everyday conversational English is already sufficient, I no longer feel the need to practice casual speech during presentations.
Instead, I want to focus more on the content itself—to convey my ideas fully, clearly, and without regret.

With the help of AI, I can expand my thinking, organize my ideas more effectively, and express them in accurate, natural, near-native English without unnecessary repetition.

My hope is that this also makes my presentation more helpful and enjoyable for the listeners.

Another practical reason is efficiency.
By preparing a well-structured script, I can reduce the time and effort needed to memorize and deliver new, expanded ideas without missing key points.

After all, if this hobby becomes stressful, it won’t be sustainable in the long run.

As I repeat this process, I feel that this, too, is a form of evolution.
For me, choosing either method is a matter of personal freedom.
What truly matters is that, regardless of the style, presentations are engaging, concise, and meaningful—and that each person uses their speaking time in the way that best reflects their own direction and purpose.
