Why English Will Stay with Me
I study English quite seriously, but more importantly, I enjoy it.
I enjoy English because I simply like the language itself.
It’s useful when I travel, but that’s not the main reason anymore.
I like trying to catch words and meanings when I watch foreign shows and movies.
I enjoy spending time with friends who also love studying English.
And I even enjoy writing my diary in English.
These days, I also read the news in English—
Breaking News, VOA, and BBC.
Through them, I stay connected to a world that keeps changing and moving forward.
Reading the news in English helps me feel the tone of the world,
not just the translated meaning.
Now, I realize that I probably won’t travel to English-speaking countries as often as before.
I’ve already been to many of them.
So I asked myself:
Will I still enjoy English this much in the future?
After thinking about it, the answer feels clear.
English is no longer just a tool for travel or communication.
It has become a way I think, reflect, and stay connected—with people,
with ideas, and with the world.
English helps me step back from my emotions,
organize my thoughts,
and see things a little more clearly.
It’s not something I chase or try to prove anymore.
It’s simply something that walks beside me.
So even if I don’t use English to go somewhere new,
I still use it to understand what is happening now.
English is no longer about where I go.
It’s about how I live.
And that’s why I know—
I won’t lose interest in English.
It will grow older with me,
more quietly,
but more deeply.
