How Christianity, Judaism, and Islam See Jesus
Today, I’d like to compare Christianity, Judaism, and Islam
by focusing on how they see Jesus,
and also briefly explain how Islam views Muhammad.
First, all three religions believe in one God
and began in the Middle East.
They also share important figures such as Abraham and Moses.
However, their views of Jesus are very different.
In Christianity,
Jesus is the Son of God and also God Himself.
Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah,
that he died on the cross,
and that he rose from the dead to save humanity from sin.
For Christians, Jesus is the center of their faith.
In Judaism,
Jesus is not considered the Messiah.
Jewish people believe that the Messiah
has not come yet,
so Jesus is not worshipped
and does not play an important role in Judaism.
In Islam,
Jesus is called Isa
and he is respected as a great prophet.
Muslims believe that he was born to the Virgin Mary
and performed miracles,
but they do not believe he is God
or the Son of God.
Instead, Muslims believe that Muhammad
is the final and greatest prophet.
They believe Muhammad received
the final message from God,
which was written in the Qur’an.
Muhammad is not God and is not worshipped,
but he is deeply respected
as God’s final messenger.
So, in conclusion,
the biggest difference among these religions
is how they understand Jesus.
For Christians, Jesus is God and Savior.
For Jews, Jesus is not the Messiah.
For Muslims, Jesus is a prophet,
and Muhammad is the final prophet.
Same roots,
very different beliefs.
