What’s the best way to lose weight?
I don’t do any special workouts, but I love walking.
Whenever I get the chance to go trekking or hiking, I never hesitate.
Walking with good people is especially enjoyable, so when I meet my friends, we don’t just eat together—we always add a nice walk after the meal as part of the plan.
As for my eating habits, I keep my breakfast–lunch–dinner ratio at about 2:3:1.
Especially after several days of eating out or a long trip, my weight tends to creep up a little.
To bring it back down before it’s too late, I’ve found that cutting down on dinner works the fastest.
And there are good reasons for that:
• Metabolism slows down in the evening, which means your body burns less energy.
So anything unused is more likely to be stored as fat.
• Insulin sensitivity drops at night, so even the same amount of food can raise your blood sugar more and lead to extra fat storage.
•
• Eating a big dinner affects sleep quality.
Late meals interrupt digestion, disrupt deep sleep, and make the next day’s eating schedule go off track.
But during the holiday season, with so many dinner gatherings and drinks, this rule tends to fall apart, and I start wobbling off course.
Since I love meeting people, I really need to navigate the year-end season wisely.
