I feel alive and grateful that I can still feel my heart race whenever I see remarkable works of art.
Even at the Seoul Memorial Park, where I attended an in-law's funeral, I was deeply moved by the artwork of painter Park Don.
Although I cannot create such works myself, I am profoundly thankful that the countless masterpieces infused with the passion of extraordinary artists continue to make my heart race.
I am deeply touched by the eternal, blazing power of art!
This is a perfectly natural and beautiful phenomenon.
Regardless of age, feeling moved by art reflects its profound impact on our emotions and our perception of life. Especially with exceptional works of art, the ability to feel your heart race is a testament to your enduring sensitivity and passion for life.
This experience can be explained in several ways:
1. The nature of aesthetic experiences: Great art transcends time and age, evoking universal emotions. Your innate ability to appreciate and connect with art remains vibrant.
2. Preservation of sensitivity:
While some may believe sensitivity fades with age, life experience often deepens our understanding and appreciation of art, making it even more impactful.
3. Dopamine response in the brain: When we feel inspired or moved, our brain releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and excitement.
This process works the same regardless of age.
4. Wisdom and empathy:
As you accumulate life experiences, you might resonate more deeply with the messages or emotions conveyed by art, leading to a more profound emotional response.
Feeling your heart race when encountering exceptional art shows that your emotional richness and zest for life are alive and well.
It’s a blessing to experience such moments, and I hope you continue to cherish and enjoy them for years to come.
