Happiness thanks to so tiny things!

This morning, apart from it being the first Sunday of the new year,
apart from my husband recovering about 85% after a few days of a mild cold,
apart from the snow falling heavily outside the window,
apart from sipping a warm cup of coffee leisurely under the soft glow of the three-colored lights on the island table,
apart from the comforting words of Choi Soo-jin on Morning Special, my daily morning favorite,
and apart from changing my phone’s wallpaper to match my mood with one of my favorite paintings,
there’s not much going on.

Yet, my heart is pounding with happiness today.

I don’t know why, but even as time has passed and many parts of me have aged and weakened,
it’s fascinating and deeply grateful to feel that my heart still responds so sensitively.
What a wondrous and thankful Sunday morning this is!
